If you’ve found your way to our Mission page, you’re likely looking for more than just a service. You’re looking for the why.

I started //JON LOVES DOGS because of a realization that stuck with me and never let go: Dogs didn't choose to need us; we built them that way. Over thousands of years, we bred them to be our partners, our protectors, and our most loyal companions. We engineered them to depend on us for everything—not just food and water, but for connection and a sense of safety.

To me, that’s a massive responsibility.

Lately, it feels like the world is getting busier and faster, and dogs are being pushed to the sidelines. In many places, they’ve become an afterthought. I can't fix the whole world, but I can look at what’s right in front of me here in Essex County and say we can do better.

That is why this team exists. It’s why we obsess over things like body language, Fear Free™ certification, and enrichment. It isn't just about "getting the job done" or paying the bills. It’s about honoring the loyalty they give us so freely.

They’ve spent centuries looking out for us. I’m just trying to return the favor, one walk at a time.
